Dear PHJH Parent(s) and Guardian(s):
I want to officially welcome all of you to the 2017-2018 school year. I feel truly blessed to be serving as the instructional leader of such an awesome school community. All of us at Prairie Hills Junior High School are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the “BEST YEAR EVER”!
As a professional learning community, we are committed to working tirelessly to provide challenging educational opportunities for children daily. The entire staff is dedicated to ensuring that all children reach their highest potential. We will continue to focus on providing rigorous instruction, technology integration across the curriculum, and ensuring the social and emotional needs of our students are met.
As always, parental involvement is an important aspect of every child’s education and is the primary factor in a students’ success in school. Research continues to show a strong correlation between parent involvement and high student achievement. As your principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. There are many ways which you can participate in our school. Volunteering, chaperoning field trips, and becoming a member of the PTO are just a few things you can do to make a difference.
This new school year has brought about some changes at PHJH. I am proud to announce that our new assistant principals for the 2017-2018 school year are, Ms. Kimberly Kimbrough, and Mr. Milton Leathers. They each bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure we continue moving in the right direction. In addition, our dismissal procedures have been modified. Our new dismissal procedures are as follows:
2:30 p.m. (All Bus riders)
2:37 p.m. (Walkers, Car riders) Door 2
In closing, if I can ever be of assistance please do not hesitate to call or email me @ (708) 210-2860 or firstname.lastname@example.org. I firmly believe that through a collaborative learning community, consistent, honest, and open lines of communication will allow me to best serve our students. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve in this GREAT community;
Kenndell L. Smith, Principal
