I would like to take this opportunity to extend a cheerful greeting to you. I hope you are well rested and ready for an exciting school year at Chateaux, home of the Colts!At the core of all learning experiences is the student, and all educational experiences must begin with the individual student in mind. Thus, the faculty and staff at Chateaux Elementary will promote a student-centered approach to teaching and learning that affirms and values the diversity and individual differences that each child brings to the learning experience. To that end, the teachers and I will educate the whole child and design developmentally appropriate learning environments that allow all students to maximize their potential. The essence of Chateaux is simple; we treat your children like our own, there is no ceiling on your child's potential, and we believe that partnerships with parents are essential for children to succeed.During the school year, the School Improvement Plan will guide our educational efforts. Developed by the Chateaux School Improvement Team, this plan states the goals we will strive to meet during the course of the school year. These goals focus on improving student performance in the areas of reading, writing/language usage, math, science, and social studies. Our goals are aligned with Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144's goals for academic achievement, safe and orderly environment and community collaboration. We will work together to ensure that all of our students meet success. My best wishes to all teachers, students and families as we begin a new school year.
