     Welcome Back PHJH Family,

First, I hope everyone had a fun and productive summer.  I am honored to start my second year as Assistant Principal at Prairie Hills Junior High School, “The Hills”!  It is always an exciting time of year to see our students come through the doors.  I am looking forward to working with our new administrative team and staff, as well as those returning. As we embark on the 2018-2019 school year, I believe we will reach our goals with determination and a united front.  As always, we will continue to build life-long learners. I will continue to do my very best to ensure every student is provided with an enriching, rigorous, holistic and safe learning experience.

This year I will continue working closely with the Mustang Math Department.  I will continue assisting students and staff with building critical thinking skills to master mathematical concepts. Mathematical concepts paired with mathematical discourse during instruction, will push PHJH towards our academic goals.  As the 2018-2019 6th Grade Assistant Principal, I also have the privilege to work closely with the incoming Mustangs and their teachers.  As our students grow into their roles in junior high school, our team will help guide them academically and behaviorally. Sixth Grade is a very important year for students. PHJH sixth grade students will face new challenges. Students will navigate on a new academic journey, changing teachers for their core classes, taking more responsibility for what they learn, and applying knowledge to their overall academic experiences.  It is my priority that each student enjoys their 2018-2019 school year and beyond.

    Sincerely,

    Milton L. Leathers
