    The Pursuit of EXCELLENCE continues...

    Welcome Back to the

    2021-2022 School Year!

Welcome Back to an awesome, fabulous, challenging, englightening, collaborative, embracing, loving, caring, and exceptional school year!

Over the years, I realize Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144 has not done a good job of highlighting the wonderful things occuring in our district. One of my goals is to begin to share and highlight our phenomenal students and extraordinary staff members and administrators. We have 6 of our 7 schools rated as commendable. Our junior high is rated as targeted due to our special education subgroup. We are proud of our financial ranking of "recognition" which is the 2nd highest ranking financial ranking. We are soo thrilled that our very own Ms. Sheen Birgans Wright received a $30,000 grant from Amazon in recognition for our STEM program. Ms. Birgans Wright was also named "Teacher of the Year," by Amazon! KUDO's to one of our very own extraordinary staff members.

My staff and I contine to work tirelessly to ensure that our students receive the BEST learning experience possible. Our charge is to re-imagine education for our students as they enter our schools this fall. We want them to have a fulfilling, engaging, challenging and collaborative learning experience this school year. We intend to follow all of the recommended guidelines from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), as well as, the IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health). We will be providing weekly testing utilizing the SHIELD COVID test beginning August 30, 2021 for staff members, and September 27, 2021 for students. This is just another mitigation strategy that we are utilizing to keep all students and staff safe and hopefully COVID free.

Our moral imperative continues to be that home and school work together collaboratively to ensure that our students are challenged to grow, learn and excel in a rigorous and challenging environment; whereby our students compete and dominate in the larger global society.

My staff and I continue to be amazed at the tremendous strides we are making in Prairie-Hills District 144! We remained renewed, excited and tenacious about moving our District to the next level of EXCELLENCE. This is our continual quest! We cannot, nor would we want to succeed without your essential partnership, input, support, dedication and commitment!
