Personal
My name is Mrs. Williams, and I am the oldest of my three sisters. I love reading, however, it has been awhile since I have been able to enjoy a good book to recommend to my students. I strive to transfer my passion for reading into my instructional strategies. I enjoy integrating technology into as many learning opportunities as possible for my students.
Professional
I graduated from Elmhurst College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading and Language Arts. In 2009, I completed my Masters in Art in Reading Education, and in 2013, Masters in Educational Administration from Saint Xavier University.
I began my teaching career at Prairie-Hills Junior High School, teaching seventh grade reading in 2005. Since then, I have taught 6th and 8th grade reading and ELA. This year I will begin my 19th year at Prairie-Hills Junior High School as the Literacy Coach and English Language Arts Department Chair. I will work with students that are struggling with various reading deficits as well as assist teachers with implementing best practices in literacy instruction.
