Principal's Corner

  • Principal Cook

              Dear Parent and Guardians,

Welcome back to a new school year!  We are very excited to begin our 2019-2020 year at Fieldcrest Elementary School.  As I begin my seventh year journey as principal,  I am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational program for our students.   I am elated to bring my skills as an educational leader to Fieldcrest and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure success.

It is my goal to continue to have students at Fieldcrest reach their maximum academic potential and build positive relationships among teachers, parents, and the community.  Fieldcrest has a reputation of excellence and I feel fortunate to be a part of a school culture focused on student learning, collaboration, commitment and high expectations.  I am committed to encouraging the students to be life-long learners and productive citizens.  In addition, I believe that parents play an important role in building a child’s confidence, motivation and success.  Parents are a vital part of their children’s lives and your partnership will ensure their success in school

As principal, I will continue to cultivate a supporting environment for all.  Fieldcrest will continue to use a positive behavior intervention plan (PBIS) as a way to accomplish achievement and encouragement for social and academic goals. Staff will continue to receive professional development to enhance instructional strategies.  In addition, I encourage parents to actively give a voice in decision making through our P.T. O.

The first day of school will be a full day on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at 8:30.  Students that would like breakfast will go directly to the cafeteria.  Staff will be in the cafeteria to assist students with locating their appropriate classroom.  Pre-K and Kindergarten parents that assist their child with supplies MUST report to the office FIRST. You will be escorted to the appropriate classrooms to drop of your child’s supplies. Students will begin dismissal at 2:50. (car riders)

Just a reminder, Fieldcrest students must wear navy bottoms with a white or navy blue top beginning on the first day of school.  Also, please adhere to the attached “Parking Lot Safety” letter. It is extremely important that ALL procedures are followed for parking.  At no time should cars be parked in the bus loading area, no parking zone or left unattended.

I am confident that we can continue to make our school a place of excellence.  I look forward to working with you and your child.

    Kimberly Cook,
