kGreetings Highlands Students, Parents, and Community,

I hope this letter finds everyone rested and ready for the 2024-2025 school year.  My name is Mr. Timothy Hurd, and I am excited to return as principal for the coming school year.  Many of you may have noticed, or heard, that we did some major renovations and upgrades at Highlands, and we are eager for our students, families, and community to see these changes when school opens on August 21st.

My primary focus as the principal is the overall safety, health, and growth of our students, while ensuring they receive consistent and rigorous academic instruction. Our district is on an equity journey, in short, we strive to provide what every student, staff and community member needs to have a successful and enriching experience at Highlands.

I am looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children reach their highest potential.  We recognize that to achieve this there must be support from home and school and that a strong relationship with you will make a significant difference in your child (s) education. As partners, we share in the success and struggles of our children, and you can rest assured that the Highlands staff and I will do our best in carrying out our own responsibilities.

    Always, Timothy Hurd
