• Dear Second Grade Families,

     


         My name is Kathaleen Chatman, and it is my pleasure to welcome your child to second grade at Nob Hill School! I am very excited to meet you and begin a year full of enriched learning with your child. The goal is for our classroom to come together as a community and for everyone to feel safe and comfortable working with each other. As the year begins, I would like to make a promise to you that I will dedicate myself to your child and work towards instilling a true love of learning. Our classroom environment is one of action, participation, and hands-on involvement. The emphasis will be on trying your best and taking chances. I will provide a safe and nurturing environment for my students so they will feel free to become all that they can be.  Working together, we can assure that every child feels welcomed and receives the best education possible. I feel that communication and teamwork between parents and teachers is vital. I will do my best to keep you informed and involved in your child's classroom life.  I have included some routines and procedures for you.

     

     Lunch:  Lunch is from 11:40-12:10

     

    Specials:  11:00-11:30

     

     Homework: The students will get a homework packet on Monday.  It is due Friday.

     

    Behavior Calendar: They will receive a behavior calendar every month.  It will need to be initialed daily by the parent or guardian.   The codes for the numbers are on the calendar. Please check their behavior calendar every night.  I think this will be a wonderful way to know how your child's behavior was that day in school.

     

    Classroom Visits: I welcome parents/guardians to visit.  My door is always open.  Please let me know when you would like to come.

     

     Take Home Folders:  Please check their folders daily for their behavior calendar, homework, or any notes.  They should bring this folder home daily and return it to school the next day.
