Read Write Think - Online resource that contains lessons, interactive activities, printables and and app to help kids improve their reading and writing skills.

NYT: The Learning Network - A collection of lesson plans, writing prompts, and activities using content from The New York Times. 

Smithsonian Tween Tribune - A free website with news articles for students.  Each article includes comprehension/vocabulary quizzes and can be adjusted by Lexile level.

Article of the Week - Weekly critical reading practice to enables students to develop their reading skills using current articles and texts.
