• Response to Intervention (RTI)

    • Response to Intervention (RTI) is a district wide initiative that provides additional reading and math instructional support for struggling learners. Providing instructional intervention allows students to receive support in areas they are deficient in. This tiered approach allows struggling students to receive additional support in the area of reading and math.

There are many ways to determine if a student should receive RTI support. We use NWEA-MAP data/scores to determine if a student receives additional support. We also consider teacher and parent recommendations.

      RTI is a three-tiered model.

Tier I is whole class instruction that all students receive.

Tier II is a 30-minute small group intervention support for students identified as struggling in reading.

Tier III is a 45-minute one-on-one intervention with the reading coach is targeted for students to receive intensive reading support.
