The mission of Prairie-Hills Elementary School District #144 is to empower all students to become lifelong learners who are active participants in their own education; to establish high expectations for all students and staff; to provide safe and secure schools; to develop a curriculum that provides enriching and challenging experiences; and to promote equal opportunities and access to tools and technology for a quality education in an environment where the community and the schools work together.


The Board of Education is elected to establish school district policies and provide a quality education for all children in Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144. The Board appoints an administrative staff to carry out its policies. Board of Education business meetings generally are on the third Monday of each month in the Administrative Building, 3015 West 163rd Street, Markham, IL. Pre-Kindergarten Screening
The Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144 Early Child Education Staff will be conducting Pre-Kindergarten Screening for Children from ages three to five. The Early Childhood Staff will use the Brigance Diagnostic Inventory of Early Development to assess various developmental skills for your child.

All preschoolers who reside in the Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144 are eligible to attend the screening free of charge.

Children who may experience possible delays in development will be recommended for further evaluations.

Screening will be during school hours 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY .
